Profile

I am an experienced technology leader and solutions architect with a strong track record in guiding organizations through complex transitions, modernizations, and cloud-native transformations. My career spans over 15 years of designing and delivering architectures that bridge legacy and modern platforms, from pioneering early AWS adoption at PostNL to building a full SaaS business at Scriptix and designing container platforms still in use today at VodafoneZiggo. Most recently, as IT Director at a SaaS startup, I built structure, focus and a quarterly cadence, and I am now looking for my next transformation.

My superhero skill is my ability to see both the strategic and technical sides of transformation. I combine hands-on expertise in modern engineering practices with a deep understanding of organizational dynamics, helping teams and stakeholders move confidently toward scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. I thrive at the intersection of engineering, product, and leadership, translating business needs into architectures that stand the test of time while coaching teams to grow in technical excellence. This focus includes the design of Golden Paths and practical examples that remove developer friction and boost productivity.

Having worked across industries as diverse as telecom, cybersecurity, managed services, and SaaS startups, I bring the versatility to evaluate technologies pragmatically, balance performance with cost and security, and establish governance without slowing down innovation. I focus on creating solutions that deliver lasting impact.

My style as a leader is direct and result driven. I can make quick decisions and value learning through execution over long research projects and discussions. I lead by coaching and practicing by example: helping my teams through hands-on execution, teaching and going through thinking exercises together. My communication is to the point with a combination of clear instructions with confrontational and positive feedback which I adjust based on the trust from and in the team.

Professional Experience

March 2026 – Present

IT Director

Zibber, Eindhoven

Zibber is a SaaS startup moving from founder-led to structured operations. I joined as its first IT Director with a clear mandate: build the structure the department needed to grow. I reorganized the way of working and the operating model and implemented an agile way of working. I introduced a roadmap with a quarterly horizon and a quarterly cadence, defined goals for the department and brought focus to the organization. As a result, projects that had been stalled for a long time were completed, partly thanks to the new structure. I grew the development team from 2 to 5 FTE, realigned the Product Owner role to support all of IT and introduced a new support process, including staffing. I strongly improved team culture, with a focus on ownership and communication, and I am part of the daily management team. Since October 2026 I am also interim responsible for Customer Support, where I help define a new operating model. With the foundation in place and the team running on its own cadence, my focus is shifting from building structure to the next transformation challenge.

September 2022 – February 2026

Head of Creative Tech

Devoteam, Amsterdam

Head of Creative Tech (Feb 2025 – Feb 2026) · Operations Manager AWS Netherlands (Mar 2024 – Jan 2025) · Principal Solutions Architect (Sep 2022 – Feb 2024)

At Devoteam I grew from Principal Solutions Architect to Operations Manager AWS Netherlands and Head of Creative Tech. My focus shifted from technical advisory work to organizational leadership, while I stayed close to cloud-native technology and modern development practices.

As Head of Creative Tech, I launched a new software development focused business unit, defining its strategic direction and building the team capacity to deliver full-stack and cloud-native solutions.

As Operations Manager AWS Netherlands, I was responsible for Devoteam’s AWS business and managed more than thirty engineers across the software and cloud engineering units, building the capabilities to support large-scale customer migrations.

As Principal Solutions Architect, I guided customers through modernization challenges, from rethinking legacy application deployments to adopting Kubernetes and OpenShift. I advised on technical strategy, supported presales and coached engineers, and led initiatives such as the migration from a monolithic integration platform (Tibco) to a cloud-native, code-first microservices integration layer.

Product Manager & Architect

Last Mile Solutions, Rotterdam

At Last Mile Solutions, I led the strategic direction and execution for the migration of a 10+ year legacy on-premises environment to AWS, establishing the foundational cloud platform while maintaining zero-downtime support for critical systems (200k charging stations, 10TB database, 4GB/sec peak reads).

My role went beyond technical delivery; I managed, coached, and aligned a team of six engineers to improve platform maturity and performance. Crucially, I facilitated cross-team alignment with business stakeholders and enabled six domain development teams to successfully onboard and adopt the new cloud-native platform capabilities.

I was hands-on responsible for designing the complex cloud network and developing robust migration and switch-over plans. Post-migration, my focus shifted to accelerating cloud-native adoption and implementing organizational agility improvements, effectively providing the strategic roadmap for long-term optimization and DevEx enhancement.

Solution Architect

VodafoneZiggo, Utrecht

At VodafoneZiggo I designed the company’s internal container platform for hybrid cloud and on-prem workloads. This was a large-scale, long-term effort that required multiple architectural designs, each balancing regulation, operational efficiency, security, and cost. The platform, which is still in use today, gave VodafoneZiggo a modern foundation for containerized applications. Alongside the technical delivery, I worked closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical design choices and coached developers on system architecture.

February 2018 – August 2022

Founder & CTO

Scriptix, The Hague

As CTO and managing partner at Scriptix, I was responsible for the complete technology strategy and delivery of our multi-tenant SaaS platform for speech-to-text services. I built the entire product on Kubernetes and Python, ensuring scalability, resilience, and maintainability. Beyond engineering leadership, I steered product development, roadmap definition, and customer solutions while managing our development team. Scriptix gave me end-to-end responsibility for building a modern SaaS business: from infrastructure and DevOps to customer experience and company strategy. This role was a defining step in my career, proving my ability to architect, build, and operate a full cloud-native SaaS solution.

April 2017 – October 2019

Consultant

Fox-IT, Delft

At Fox-IT I helped replace the company’s legacy monolithic Cyber Threat Management platform with a new microservices-based solution following a single-tenant architecture. I designed and scaled the infrastructure for CTMp, built on containers and Docker Swarm at a time when Kubernetes was still in its infancy. This work required deep collaboration between development and operations, ensuring the new platform was secure, compliant, and ready for growth. I later led infrastructure work for PCI compliance, steering Fox-IT through complex regulatory requirements while maintaining operational stability.

November 2013 – March 2017

Senior Linux Engineer & Architect

Net Ground, Nootdorp

My time at Net Ground (later acquired by Internedservices) was pivotal in my career. While initially focused on secure Linux-based hosting platforms, this was my first role where I stepped into presales and solution architecture. I worked closely with customers to design high-availability managed services and guided them through strategic IT decisions.

It was here that I learned the importance of operational excellence and customer intimacy, ensuring platforms not only functioned but delivered true business value. I began bridging technical depth with strategic advisory, effectively moving from a purely engineering role into a solutions-oriented architect role. The customer-facing experience I gained at Net Ground set the foundation for my later success as an architect and leader.

November 2010 – October 2013

Senior Linux Administrator

PostNL, The Hague

At PostNL (formerly Cendris) I drove major datacenter transitions: consolidating facilities, decommissioning outdated infrastructure, and migrating workloads to Linux and VMware environments. I implemented Puppet to automate deployments, practicing infrastructure-as-code long before it became industry standard, and migrated critical applications while ensuring operational stability.

Fun fact I was part of the pioneering team that deployed the very first AWS services within PostNL, at a time when cloud adoption was still in its infancy. The project was so successful that PostNL decided to go all-in on cloud and has since become one of the largest AWS customers in the Netherlands. This experience gave me an early start in cloud transformation and showed me how impactful a bold architectural vision can be on an entire enterprise’s direction.
